- 1Drink more fluids. Water is one of the best ways to flush out toxins and impurities. The more water you drink, the more you internally clean the digestive tract. And because toxins are stored in fat, when you exercise, you burn fat, thereby decreasing the levels of toxins in the body.
- 3Eat fiber. The Mayo Clinic suggests eating 20 to 35 g of fiber each day. Fiber-rich foods include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. High-fiber foods increase the size of stools and make them softer. Fiber-rich diets also reduce the likelihood of getting constipated. Constipation is hard, dry stools, infrequent bowel movements or straining during a bowel movement. The fiber increases the number of bowel movements, and this cleans out the intestines.
- 4Consider colon hydrotherapy. Colon hydrotherapy is a medical procedure that pumps warm water into the lower intestines to clean them out.
